#50 – I Left Vancouver Because Vancouver Left Me

Unfortunately it's nothing new to hear about young people leaving Vancouver. In recent times, one of the most memorable farewells to the city has come from journalist Jessica Barrett. Jessica wrote an opinion piece for the Tyee back in October 2017 titled, "I Left Vancouver Because Vancouver Left Me". With the article being shared online nearly 20,000 times, clearly this message resonated with a lot of people in this city. Recording via Skype, Jessica is my guest this week on the podcast. We talk about why she left, what's different for her now and policies she believes are most needed to help combat the housing crisis here in Vancouver. Stuff we talk about in this episode: Jessica's essay to Vancouver Policies to help make Vancouver more affordable
